Meet Dr. Molina

David G. Molina D.D.S.

David Molina was born in Burbank, California in 1953, the second of six children.

As a high school student David became interested in film making. He was president of Servite High School's Film Club for four years, and produced three film festivals and dozens of short films. David was also an avid soccer player. He organized Servite's first varsity soccer team and served as team captain. He graduated Valedictorian of his class in 1971.

As an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California, David played varsity soccer. He was co-captain and named Most Valuable Player in 1974. As a part-time musician David played guitar and sang with "Los Magnificos", a group specializing in Mexican folk music. During his senior year David studied government and administration in Washington D.C. He was recognized as the outstanding undergraduate in the School of Public Administration and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration, Magnum Cum Laude.

David attended dental school at the University of California, San Francisco. During his first year in 1976, David married Maria Pedroza, his college sweetheart from USC. Maria subsequently enrolled in the dental hygiene program at UCSF and graduated with David in 1980. Both Maria and David were selected Regents Scholars, Fleming Scholars, and Alumni Scholars by the UC Regents, UCSF Faculty, and Dental Alumni respectively. David served as a member of the Dental Admissions Committee and Curriculum Committee. He was on Reserve status through the four years of dental school as a participant in the Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program. Upon receiving his D.D.S. degree fron UCSF in 1980, the faculty conferred on David the Robert Rule Award for high scholastic achievement, superior clinical skill, and exemplary character.

In 1980, David was commissioned as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps. He was selected for postgraduate training and completed a one year General Practice Residency at USAF Medical Center Scott in 1981.

David served as a general dental officer for five years at Beale Air Force Base. He served as Preventive Dentistry Officer and gained notoriety for his entertaining children's presentations "Plaquebusters" and "Revenge of the Plaquebusters". David was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He received an honorable discharge in 1986, having attained the rank of Major.

David began private practice in Grass Valley in 1986. In 1988 he opened his current office near Lake of the Pines.

David is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Associaton (CDA), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Butte-Sierra Dental Society. He served as President of the Butte-Sierra Dental Society in 1991.

David was the founding Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 856. He has coached youth soccer for the past ten years (and plans to for the next ten years) and is a certified referee. His interests include alpine and nordic skiing, mountain biking, jogging, and guitar. David and Maria also have four children, Ana, Gabriel, Adrian, and Daniel.
